New Look Xmas 2017

Case Study

A leading fast-fashion brand, with 596 in the UK and 300 across Europe, China and Asia.

About

The New Look was launched in 1969 as a single fashion store in the UK. From there the business has grown to become a leading fast-fashion brand, with 596 in the UK and 300 across Europe, China and Asia.

The Task & Requirements

For Christmas 2017 New Look approached a long-term collaborator of Tagra lighting, Heartbeat, and tasked them for assistance with their Christmas window scheme.

Within the brief for the scheme was a pulsating lighting effect that would bring movement to the window and ultimately be the focus of the Christmas campaign. They also wanted the entire unit to be plug-and-play and to be able to be installed by staff without the need for an electrician on site.

The Solution

Using some off the shelf Digital Neon Flex we were able to mock up a few samples before eventually opening a custom mould for a neon flex that would be circular, give 360 degrees of light, remain flexible and most importantly pulsate.

The Result

Working with its supply chain Tagra were able to develop a low cost custom controller that could then be updated with a simple memory card switch in the future. This gave the client the opportunity to update the scheme and recycle the lighting for future projects.
